Whether you’re replacing existing
PVCU double glazed windows, installing double
or triple glazing for the first time, or just upgrading
a few windows with new glass units, you have
come to the right place.
Toughened glass, sometimes referred to as “tempered” or “safety glass”
is a stronger version of the standard glass that is used in most
windows around the home. It is used in areas where greater strength or
safety is needed, for example in doors, windows near doors or windows at low level.
Why Do You Need Toughened Glass?
Safety glass that has undergone precise thermal or chemical processing
to make it stronger than regular glass is known as tempered or toughened glass.
Tempering compresses the exterior surfaces while tensing the interior.
When glass is broken as a result of these forces, it fragments into tiny granular pieces.
as opposed to breaking into sharp fragments like regular annealed glass does.
The likelihood of harm is lower with the granular chunks.
For its robustness and safety, tempered glass is employed in a range of applications.
